Uh-oh. You inspected your gear after a crash and found a soft spot on the board. How can you fix it? Take this hands-on board repair class to learn how!
This class is for Junior-rated windsurfers. As part of the class, you will repair a board, which will allow you to earn the board repair requirement on your white card. Registration is required for this class, which will be run as a lottery due to typically high demand and the small class size. From the calendar view, click here to register (you must be logged in).
This class introduces the following material:
Notes on clothing:
Bring a P100 or N95 respirator to wear. The club has additional shared P100s if you forget. You will be sanding fiberglass and you don't need that particulate causing long-term damage to your lungs. You may also opt to wear safety glasses or sunglasses if they work with your respirator.
Wear work clothing you don't mind getting dirty. Wash your clothing after sanding as the fiberglass can irritate your skin. Long hair should be pulled back.
Volunteer hours:
Board repair is an awesome way to get volunteer hours and help keep our fleet in service. Students who stay beyond two hours to work on boards may count the additional time as volunteer hours.
