Windsurfing Fast Track 2

Day 2, Registration for this 5-day sequence allowed on Day 1 only.

The Windsurfing Fast Track Course is an focused, multi-day session designed to teach you the skills required for a Junior+ windsurfer rating and enhance the skills of recent J+ windsurfers. The Windsurfing Fast Track will consist of 5 consecutive afternoons (usually 3-6pm), running from Monday 7/20 to Friday 7/24. Each day will combine land instruction with on-the-water practice and targeted feedback/coaching from Senior windsurfers. As in other sports, concentrated instruction will improve your skills rapidly. You'll be on the water for 1-2 hours each day and have a debrief with your instructor(s) afterwards.

Instructional topics will vary depending on wind conditions, but may include:

• Water starting


• Fast tacks and backwinding


• Light wind freestyle


• Sailing efficiently

Attendees should be comfortable on Junior boards (i.e., no centerboard), have some experience using a harness, and have the physical ability to sail multiple days in a row. This fast track is not intended for people who recently received their Junior rating (i.e., within 1 month of the start date).

Note: This is the second iteration of a CSC windsurfing fast track. As such, the exact plan/format may change between now and the start date, but something will happen. If things go well, we may try to schedule another fast track week later in the summer.
