Who Can Sign-Off on CSC Tests and Ratings

This is where/whom to go to get tested and signed off.

Dinghy Sailboat (up to Junior)

  1. Written Test - Can be taken online by logging into the website and clicking here. If you do not pass, you will not be told what you got wrong, and you have to wait a day to take it again. You must be a logged-in member to take the test.
  2. Rigging Test - Given by Senior Sailor.
  3. Sailing Test (Novice or Junior) - Given by Senior Sailor.
  4. The system updates the rating when all requirements have been met.

Windsurf Ratings (up to Junior+)

  1. Written Test (Novice) - Can be taken online by logging into the website and clicking here. You must be a logged-in member to take the test.
  2. Sail Handling and Self-Rescue (Novice) - The Day Leader can give these tests.
  3. Written Test (Junior or Junior+) - Can be taken online by logging into the website and clicking here. for Junior or here for Junior+.  If you do not pass, you will not be told what you got wrong, and you have to wait a day to take it again.
  4. Rigging Test (Junior or Junior+) - Given by Senior Windsurfer.
  5. Sailing Test (Junior or Junior+) - Given by Senior Windsurfer
  6. The system updates the rating when all requirements have been met.

High Performance Dinghies

This refers to Laser, RS500, RS800, and UFO.

To sail any of these boats, you must be instructed in rigging and sailing the boat. You must be a Junior to sail the Laser or the UFO. Additionally, you must be a solid Laser sailor to sail the UFO. You must be a Senior to sail the RS500 or the RS800.

For the Laser and the RS500, you must be signed off by a member who is qualified to sail the boat. For the RS800 and the UFO, you must be signed off by a member who is qualified to sign off on them.

J-80 Keelboat

To sail the J-80, you must be a Senior Sailor (full Senior, including keelboats) and be instructed in rigging and sailing it. There is a separate sign-off for sailing with "white sails" (main and jib, but no gennaker) and for sailing with the gennaker. Sign-off must be done by a qualified member.
